Legal Cashier - With multiple offices in Surrey and Southwest London, our client, a Top 200 and Chambers ranked practice is now seeking a further Legal Cashier to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting the firm’s continued success.
About the Role
The role will involve reconciling client and office bank accounts, managing the firm’s banking systems, handling client monies, and processing payments and receipts, including transfers for bills, disbursements and foreign payments. Responsibilities will also include approving bills, checking completion statements, and posting credit notes and bill reversals. The role includes managing cheques, counsel and expert fee ledgers, credit card payments, petty cash, supplier invoices, standing orders and direct debits, as well as monitoring receipts and liaising with fee earners, partners and support staff to maintain accurate financial records.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have several years’ experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm, with a strong understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and AML requirements. Experience with legal accounting and case management systems is essential, along with the ability to support audits. You will be well organised, numerate, and able to work accurately under pressure, particularly at month and year end.
